SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The end of fair season is almost here.
With that, the start of the Illinois State Fair, this Thursday through August 11th.
There will be a lot that’s new this year, according to Fair Manager Rebecca Clark, especially for kids — including character brunches, food promotions, and an exhibit of giant dinosaurs.
“This is going to take place in Happy Hollow,” said Clark, during a recent fair media preview. “Kids of all ages will be able to interact with two dozen giant animatronic dinosaurs. We hope that everyone will take a moment to visit Happy Hollow, and see them before they see you.”
Clark says there are tickets still available for grandstand shows like Willie Nelson, Sam Hunt, and comedian Trever Noah, among others.
And, she says admission prices are the same.
“Adults are still half price Sunday through Thursday. Kids 12 and under are free every day of the fair. There’s no change…in the cost to park on the grounds.”
