PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man is going to prison for the maximum time possible after sexually abusing two teenage girls.

29-year-old Danny Devine Junior was sentenced to 14 years in prison this week. Chief Judge Katherine Gorman ordered him to serve seven years for each victim back-to-back, calling his actions “psychological warfare”.

Prosecutors say Devine befriended a 15-year-old girl online before turning violent and possessive. He did the same thing to a 16-year-old girl—even tattooing his name on her thigh.

Assistant State’s Attorney Brian Fitzsimons credited the girls for overcoming their fear to speak up and stop the abuse.
