PEORIA, Ill. – A homeless woman has been indicted for allegedly trying to kidnap a five-year-old child earlier this month in downtown Peoria.
29-year-old Erica Mueller was indicted on charges of Attempt Kidnapping and Aggravated Battery on Tuesday by a Peoria County grand jury.
Mueller allegedly grabbed the child and attempted to leave with them on the morning of September 2nd at SW Jefferson and Liberty.
The child’s mother and a bystander stopped Mueller, who then fled on foot after and was later arrested after a foot chase.
Mueller is due back in court next Thursday for an arraignment.
