After receiving my AncestryDNA tests, I had wondered why the name “Weyhrich” showed up so much. Diane told me that a lot of people in the “Sand Prairie” area were related. Even though the test proved we weren’t as close of cousins as originally assumed, she had “Weyhrich” blood too.

So now, instead of disowning me, Diane had become my co-detective and advocate.
She started asking questions to people to see if they remembered anything involving my mom and possible fathers. At that same time, my best friend Erin began searching records, looking for possible daddies.
Two Weyhrich men names popped up.

Time now for more Facebook stalking and tree building on AncestryDNA!
On Ancestry, in addition to getting your origins and DNA relatives, you can build generations WAY back in “Family Trees”.
So I just plugged in a potential daddy for my Mommy… and away we went.
I found one guy in Bartonville was potential daddy’s grandson through his Obituary. Then, I found that my friend Eric was his friend on Facebook. EXCELLENT. I gave Eric all the details and he contacted Bartonville dude.
That did not go well. The concept was shot down immediately and he would not take a test even if I sent it to him for free. And I get it. No one wants to hear that your grandpa may have cheated on your grandma. But we all fall short in the glory of God. Right?
Turns out, I was wrong about that guy being my possible grandpa anyways.
I found this out…because…My mom’s AncestryDNA tests results came in.
Holy Moly! We’ve got a big lead here!
