WASHINGTON, D.C. (FOX NEWS) — Congress is still debating the $1.2 trillion “Hard Infrastructure” bill already passed by the Senate, as well as the proposed $3.5 trillion “Human Infrastructure Reconciliation” package Democrats want to pass.
Congressman Brad Sherman, of California, joined “Fox News Live” Sunday to discuss the difficulty of getting the larger bill passed, and whether it can be done by the end of the month.
“Frankly, no…but, we should certainly try to achieve that. We’re trying to do something enormous…something enormous with razor-thin majorities,” Sherman said.
Democrats cannot lose any votes in the Senate for the package to pass, with $1.5 trillion in spending.
Rep. Ro Khanna joined Fox’s “Sunday Morning Futures” to explain the social spending legislation.
“The bill does not, in any way, derail individual transactions. There is no oversight on individual transactions,” Khanna said.
House Democrats missed a self-imposed deadline to pass the infrastructure bill by the end of September.
Moderate and progressive Democrats aren’t seeing eye to eye on the price tag of the social spending bill.
Democrats are trying to pass the spending legislation through reconciliation, which means they could get it through Congress without any Republican support.
