EUREKA, Ill. – The top prosecutor in Woodford County will soon get to rule on cases in the court.
The Illinois Supreme Court on Friday announced that Woodford County State’s Attorney Greg Minger has been appointed as a Resident Circuit Judge for the county in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
Minger will start his new role on September 20th and serve until Dec. 7th, 2026. He is filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Charles Feeney III.
Minger has served as Woodford County State’s Attorney since 2011, winning re-election three times.
In a statement, Minger says he is “humbled and grateful” to be selected as a judge.
“I thank Justice Lisa Holder White for her choice and belief in me for Resident Circuit Judge of Woodford County, as well as the unanimous decision of the Illinois Supreme Court. I am so thankful for the diligent work of the selection committee as well, a lot of time and background checks were made on four very qualified candidates,” Minger said.
The Eleventh Judicial Circuit includes Woodford, Logan, McLean, Livingston, and Ford Counties.
