PEORIA, Ill. – The man accused in the shooting death of a woman in Dunlap last year is pleading guilty to her murder.
Court records indicate a jury trial for Walter Artis’ was to begin Monday after pleading not guilty last year in connection to the death of 23-year-old Alexis Boland.
Boland suffered multiple gunshot wounds in an apartment on April 14th last year, and was declared brain dead two days later.
25 News reports Walter Artis’ guilty plea means charges of home invasion, attempted murder, and aggravated battery are being dropped.
Artis is scheduled to be sentenced on November 7th.
