PEORIA, Ill. – With a Winter Storm Watch issued for Central Illinois Sunday morning through Monday morning, it looks like we could see our biggest snowfall of the season so far.
25 News First Alert Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins says they’ve issued a First Alert Weather Day for moderate to heavy snow on Sunday.
“You have a couple of days to prepare for snow that will overspread the area late Saturday night and continue into Sunday night. The numbers could change, but right now it looks like four to six inches of snow could fall around the Peoria metro area,” Collins says.
Heavier snow amounts could come to the south of our area, lesser amounts are expected north.
Collins says this weekend’s snow will bring cold air as the temperatures stay below freezing the next 10 days.
