EL PASO, Ill. – The Woodford County Coroner wants a job in Springfield.
Tim Ruestman announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for State Representative in the 105th District on Tuesday next year.
The announcement comes after the current representative, Dennis Tipsword, announced last week his intention to run for Woodford County Sheriff next year.
Ruestman has been Coroner for more than three decades in Woodford County.
In a statement, Ruestman says his priorities will include protecting farmland, small business growth, fiscal responsibility, and public safety.
“I have dedicated much of my life to serving the people of Woodford County, and I’m ready to take that experience and commitment to Springfield” said Ruestman. “With Representative Dennis Tipsword not seeking reelection, I believe our district needs a steady, local voice in Springfield—someone who understands the needs of our rural communities, supports law enforcement, and defends conservative values.”
The 105th District includes ports of counties such as Tazewell, Woodford, and Marshall Counties.
