PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – The former finance director for WTVP has been dismissed from a lawsuit filed by the station and its insurance company.
25 News reports Lin McLaughlin was part of the suit that sought to recoup money from potential financial fraud. The estate of the late former CEO Lesley Matuszak is also part of the lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed in March of 2025 by Cincinnati Insurance and Illinois Valley Public Telecommunications Corporation. The lawsuit alleges that McLaughlin and Matuszak worked together in a scheme to steal WTVP funds over multiple years.
Court documents also allege that $375,000 in revenue for the station was lost because of the actions.
McLaughlin was removed from the lawsuit on February 20th.
Matuszak took her own life after the fraud was discovered in 2023, with prosecutors saying there was probable cause to charge her with embezzlement.
