PEKIN, Ill. (25 News) – The two men accused in a home invasion and sexual assault in East Peoria that ended up in a police standoff in Peoria on Thursday must stay in jail.

25 News reports Tazewell County prosecutors charged 37-year-old Gabriel Sheegog and 68-year-old Larry Wallace on Friday.

Prosecutors say the pair allegedly forced their way into an East Peoria home while armed and physically assaulted two people, then allegedly tied up and sexually assaulted one of the victims.

Both face charges of home invasion and aggravated criminal sexual assault, as well as facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and unlawful restraint.

They are due back in court next month.
