PEORIA, Ill. – Autopsy results for the victim in a fatal residential high rise fire in Peoria early Sunday morning have been released.
70-year-old Lynn Hinkley passed away on Sunday morning after being taken to OSF St. Francis. She was among multiple people injured in the fire at the B’nai B’rith Apartments on W. Sam J. Stone.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Hinkley likely passed away a short time after the fire started. She was pronounced dead just before 7:00 A.M. at OSF.
Harwood says Hinkley suffered inhalation of smoke and soot, and had burns on about 20% of her body.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
