LINCOLN, Ill. – The old Lincoln College campus is getting a fresh start.
A local benefactor bought the historic property specifically to bring new jobs and economic growth back to Lincoln.
Now, they’re offering dollar-a-year leases to help businesses and non-profits expand.
Lincoln Economic Advancement & Development CEO Uriah Kilgallin says it’s a rare chance to build something lasting.
“The dollar leases will be in place until a point in time where the property can be donated to the non-profit, or can be sold at below market rate…somewhere between $40 and $50 a square foot,” Kilgallin says.
Interested groups are encouraged to come tour the buildings on campus and see what’s available.
“The application is live now on our website, and on September 29th we have a walk of the grounds at 1 p.m. Any prospective tenants can come through and see if it (the building space) meets what their needs are,” Kilgallin says.
The walkthrough on September 29th will start in front of University Hall on campus.
