PEORIA, Ill. – A 32-year-old woman was seriously injured in a shooting Tuesday night in South Peoria.

Peoria Police say officers were called to the area of South Friedan and South Griswold streets around 7:20 p.m. after multiple ShotSpotter alerts indicated about 20 rounds had been fired over a three-minute period.

Officers found the woman on the ground in the 2000 block of South Friedan Street with a gunshot wound.

She was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and was listed in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.

Police have not released any information about a possible suspect.

The shooting remains under investigation.
