PEORIA, Ill. – There’s a saying often used in jest along the lines of “Never let facts get in the way of a good story.”
The Peoria City/County Health Department is refuting a recent Facebook post suggesting multiple health code violations at the McDonalds on Knoxville.
They say they’ve received multiple complaints about conditions at the store based on the post, ranging from spills to moldy sweet tea, or, “meth smoking in the bathroom.”
Health Department officials say an inspection of the eatery by Environmental Health staff proved the allegations were false, and pictures taken of the problems were not taken recently.
They do say if you see anything questionable at any food establishment, contact the health department — maybe even before posting to social media. The Environmental Health staff can be contacted at eh@peoriacounty.org.
