PEORIA, Ill. – The St. Jude Peoria runners are headed to Memphis, Tennessee.
20 RVs, filled with 185 runners and support staff, left Peoria Tuesday morning bound for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
WMBD’s own Caleb Kelch is running in his 7th “Memphis to Peoria Run”.
He talks about why St. Jude is so important to him.
“In general, it’s just an amazing cause. And, then I have family members on my dad’s side that include a cousin that was a St. Jude patient,” Kelch says.
The runners will tour the St. Jude campus and learn more about the newest research that’s helping St. Jude’s patients survive, then start their trek back to Peoria Wednesday morning.
The runners will cover 465 miles before meeting up with satellite runs from across the Midwest Saturday afternoon. They will then converge on the Peoria Civic Center for the St. Jude Telethon on WEEK-25 Saturday evening.
