PEORIA, Ill. – Several storm systems are expected to make their way into Central Illinois Thursday afternoon.
With a threat of severe weather, 25 News First Alert Meteorologist Balint Szlavari says they’ve designated Thursday a First Alert Weather Day.
“Numerous strong to severe storms are possible this (Thursday) afternoon and evening, as a robust storm system passes through the Midwest. Two rounds of storms will be possible with the first round early this (Thursday) afternoon, mainly from noon through 3 p.m.,” Szalavari says.
A cold front will then drive a second round of potential storms, mainly from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
“All severe weather hazards are possible with damaging winds and a few tornadoes as the primary threats,” Szalavari says.
