EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Officials with the City of East Peoria have suspended the electrical aggregation program after they were unable to secure a better electricity supply rate for residents. Officials say that while the program is on pause, market rates will be closely monitored to identify opportunities that may benefit the community.

For now, residents will default to Ameren’s standard residential rate unless they have an existing agreement with another provider. Future billings will be received directly from Ameren.

East Peoria officials say they appreciate the patience and understanding of those affected. Further, they remain optimistic about potential improvements next spring and will pursue new opportunities as they arise.
