PEORIA, Ill. – A brand new club sport for women at Bradley University has its leader.

On Wednesday, the university announced that Madison Maloof will be the first head coach of the Bradley women’s ice hockey team, when the team takes the ice for the first time this fall.

Women’s hockey is one of five women’s club sports being introduced at Bradley under the Premier Club Sports banner.  Flag Football and Soccer are also scheduled to start this fall, with STUNT and Women’s Wrestling to come within the next two years.

Premier Club Sports Director Craig Dahlquist says Maloof brings a passion for hockey and strong leadership skills to the role, along with a deep connection to Bradley.

“As we expand opportunities for women through our Premier Club Sports initiative, she is the right person to build this program and create an outstanding experience for our student-athletes,” Dahlquist said.

Maloof is a Bradley alumnus and currently works as a managing broker for Maloof Commercial Real Estate.  The university says she has played hockey since she was nine-years-old, and serves as an assistant captain for the WCHL Division I Flatlanders.
