PEORIA, Ill. – Over a quarter-million dollars is headed to Central Illinois to help residents sharpen their job skills and improve literacy.

State Senator Dave Koehler announced more than 253-thousand dollars in state grant money is coming to the 46th District.

This funding is not just about books—it’s about giving people the practical math, writing, and English skills they need to get ahead in the workplace. It’s an investment in getting people the training they need to succeed and stand on their own.

Locally, the Neighborhood House Association is set to receive 82-thousand dollars, and the Peoria County Regional Office of Education is getting more than 66-thousand.

The cash is part of a larger, state-wide push to boost library services and adult education across Illinois.
