PEORIA, Ill. – Two people charged in a fatal shooting and pedestrian crash in South Peoria last month have been indicted by a grand jury.

20-year-old Karon Hopkins and 18-year-old Dorrean Ellis were both indicted on two counts of First Degree Murder on Tuesday.

They’re charged in connection to the deaths of 26-year-old Malik Pickett and 52-year-old Gary Traylor in the early morning hours of August 22nd.

Pickett was allegedly shot at the Vibes nightclub and later died, while Traylor died after reportedly being struck by the suspect vehicle.

Hopkins was also indicted for Reckless Homicide and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, while Ellis was also indicted for Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
