Kitchen fire causes $20,000 damage, displaces nine people

Peoria, Ill. – One person was treated for smoke inhalation following a fire in the 1800 block of Bradley Avenue Monday night. 

Peoria fire officials say nine occupants escaped from the home, and fire crews rescued a dog and 2 cats from inside the burning home. 

The blaze was contained to the kitchen area, with damage estimated at $20,000.
