Coronovirus Log: Day 5
By Laura Behrens
7:15 AM. It’s 2nd childs birthday!!!! Woken up by the sounds of “it’s my birthday, not yours, it’s my birthday, not yours” repeatedly. Perfect start to the day.
8:50 AM. The breakfast rush is over. I can take my chef hat off til 1st snack.
9:45 AM. Hunker down for first wave of e-learning. Had to wake up child #1 three times. Apparently free screen time means a movie marathon in the middle of the night. Made her start PE early. Currently in 1st place for meanest mom ever!!!
11:15 AM . E-learning done ( our version of done, which is really semi-done to not even close). I decide to shower. Turn on the water and child #3 runs down the hallway. “Where are you going”? In comes child #4, “why are you showering”…. note to self, dont go 4 to 5 days without showering. The kids think something is wrong.
11:49 AM. It is time to start lunch. Snacks 1 & 2 have already been devoured, but everyone seems.STARVING! May need to check the kids for tapeworms.
12:47 PM. Decided to let the kids pick out an after lunch show we can all watch together. Dr. Pimple Popper?!?!? Why….. why do we love this show!!!! Why do my kids love this show. It’s not right! We watched 3 episodes.
2:30 PM. Feel nauseas and enlighted about dermatological skin conditions. Next on our agenda is ….. wait…. someone is crying. Nope…. make it two! Let’s say scissors and dolls hair were involved. The crime scene was catastrophic.
2:55 PM. Mermaid barbie was deemed DOA. Rapunzel barbie is in critical condition. She is more like end of the movie Rapumzel leaning toward mullet barbie.
3:30 PM. Watched the Governer. I blacked out after April 7th….
4:01 PM. I DID IT!!! MEANEST MOM EVER!!! Child #1 could not stay awake, so her TV disappeared for the night! I GOT THE TROPHY!!! WHOOOHOOOO!! I want to thank my parents for tough love, and Kim for giving me free reign with discipline. I dedicate this award to all of you!
5:15 PM. Party time!!!!! But first, let’s break for a quick game of chase and harm! Everyone but 1st child (because she is trying to sleep again… by the cake). 2nd child in the lead!! 3rd child runs to her room, 4th child now close to lapping 2nd child. Wait…. nope. 2nd child for the win!! She knows just the right tine to stick that foot out!
5:25 PM. 5th child (18 mos) laughing hystarically at the chase and the happy ending.
5:30 PM. Dinner, presents, cake!! The 3 older kids, whos birthdays were not today, only whined 10 times about the presents 2nd child got and how they want them. So everyone was happy!!
7:12. PM. The natives are all getting ready for bed and I am exhausted. Glad I showered today because I am sure it won’t happen again for 4 to 5 days.
Goodnight!!!!
