PEKIN, Ill. – Pekin City Hall was evacuated earlier Friday as a precaution after two alleged improvised explosive devices were found.
25 News reports Pekin Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation, with the driver having a revoked license.
Several contraband items, including a bag locked with a padlock, were reportedly found during a search.
Two IEDs were reportedly found in the bag after it was opened after a search warrant. No one was injured.
Police say a bomb squad from Peoria took possession of the IEDs and disposed of them.
