PEORIA, Ill. – Severe weather left its mark across central Illinois on Friday night.
Initial reports from the National Weather Service indicate numerous cities with strong winds, trees and power lines down, and hail.
A tornado was reported in Tazewell County, about four miles east north east of Emden.
In Minonk, power lines were reported down across the intersection of Illinois Routes 251 and 116, along with 60 mile per hour wind gusts. Sixty mile per hour wind gusts were also reported near Washburn.
Two inch hail was reported in Toulon.
Semi trucks were reported blown over on Interstate 74 near Deer Creek and Williamsfield.
As of 6 A.M. Saturday, over 3,200 customers were without power in Tazewell County, and more than 1,400 customers were without power in Woodford County.
