Peoria Rivermen lead SPHL Finals 2-0 after Friday’s win

PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Rivermen need just one more win to take the SPHL President’s Cup.

The Rivermen further secured their lead in the best-of-5 series by defeating Evansville 5-1 Friday night at Carver Arena. 

The Rivermen now lead the series 2-0. They were tied with the Thunderbolts 1-1 after the first period, before scoring four more goals.

The series now moves to Evansville for Game 3 and if necessary, Game 4, before potentially returning to Peoria for Game 5, if needed.
