SPRINGFIELD, Ill. –Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kick-off to summer…and that means traffic.
Triple A says the busiest times to be out on the roads are between noon and 9 PM Thursday, between 11 AM and 8 PM Friday, and from noon to 5 PM on Memorial Day.
Officers across the state will be working to make the roads safer through their “Click It or Ticket” campaign, focusing on seat belt law violators and impaired drivers.
Law enforcement officials say the goal of the campaign is to help prevent deadly accidents that increase during holiday weekend travel.
