‘Uninhabitable’: Pekin root beer shop shut down for safety concerns | Mix 106.9

PEKIN, Ill. (25 News) – A local institution has been deemed uninhabitable. 

Cranwill’s Root Beer Stand in Pekin was shut down by City officials on Wednesday, May 20th, for safety reasons—specifically, a lack of water.

25 News reports that Owner Larry LaHood was approached by the city about the building’s condition prior to the shutdown. 

LaHood says he believes the building can be saved and plans to begin renovations on June 1st.
