PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were slammed with three separate fires on Sunday, including one that investigators believe was intentionally set.

The most serious blaze broke out just before 11:30 p.m. on South Linden Street. Firefighters found a vacant home with fire showing from the outside. They put the fire out within five minutes, but the damage was estimated at $50,000. The city authorized an emergency demolition. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set.

Earlier on Sunday evening, a house fire on North Broadway was accidental, but it still caused $60,000  damage. Two residents were displaced and are now getting help from the Red Cross.

A third fire kept crews busy earlier in the day, this time at a detached garage on Thrush Street.

Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control, and there were no injuries, but the fire caused an estimated $20,000 damage. Investigators are still trying to figure out what started it.
