PEORIA, Ill. – Thunderstorms from Wednesday morning are being blamed for a house fire in Peoria.

Peoria Fire says crews arrived at the house fire just after 10:30 A.M. to Draycott and Ivybridge near US Route 150.

Smoke was found coming from the eaves of the house, with crews eventually finding the fire in the attic. The fire was under control in under ten minutes.

There were no injuries, and the homeowners were out of town.

An investigator determined a lightning strike caused the fire.
