PEORIA, Ill. – Nationally, a shortage of available homes for sale is putting the squeeze on buyers.

But, PAAR (Peoria Area Association of Realtors) President Leslie Rothan says the housing market looks quite different here.

“Buyers are still able to buy. Sellers are putting their houses on the market with more listings coming on. The prices are not as elevated as they were in the past few years, because that’s sort of leveling out. We’re trending to more of a healthy market,” Rothan says.

She tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan Show” that a lower cost of living in the Peoria area helps move more homes.

If you’re interested in buying or selling a home, Rothan suggests contacting a realtor to see if it’s the right time for you.
