PEORIA, Ill. – Leaders behind a senior housing project in South Peoria say shovels will be in the ground next month.
MacArthur Senior Flats will be a 48-unit four-story facility at MacArthur and McBean that features commercial space. It’s a joint venture between Peoria Opportunities Foundation and Pivotal Housing Partners.
POF Executive Director Irina Riggenbach tells WMBD’s “The Phil Luciano Show” that groundbreaking is expected in mid-October.
“Construction will probably take 14 months. So if we break ground in October, we’re hoping to start leasing up in January of 2028,” Riggenbach said.
Riggenbach says they are still looking for commercial tenants to go into the facility, whether that’s businesses or non-profit organizations.
