PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria County jail inmate is back in custody after briefly escaping from a hospital.
Sheriff Chris Watkins says 49-year-old Michael Poulsen was receiving treatment under the supervision of a correctional officer at Carle Hospital in Peoria.
He says Poulsen escaped at around 1:30 P.M. and was seen eastbound on Glen Oak Avenue.
About a half hour later, Poulsen was taken into custody by police on Saint Mark Court in Peoria.
Poulsen was booked into the county jail on May 23rd for Aggravated Battery and Domestic Battery.
