EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Firefighters in East Peoria spent part of Thursday night dealing with a house fire on Fondulac Court.

Assistant Fire Chief Andy Ogburn says a neighbor spotted smoke coming from a duplex around 10:45 p.m., as the neighborhood was dealing with a power outage from severe storms earlier in the evening.

No one was home when the fire started, and nobody was hurt. One side of the duplex took the brunt of the damage, specifically in the basement and a bedroom, while the second unit dealt with smoke damage.

Ogburn says the home sustained moderate damage, and crews are still looking into what started the blaze.
